
I Sodi, a tiny slip of a restaurant in the West Village on Christopher Street, coddled me in Tuscan cucina fashion. A hearty plate of salume and cheese, followed by a steaming bowl of housemade Paparadelle with a rich Rabbit Ragu, showered with sharp Pecorino, tasted like someone's Nonna was back in the kitchen. A side of delicately deep-fried slices of Shitake Mushrooms were irresistible. Juicy over-sized Shrimp complete with heads-on, flash-grilled and brought to the table with a briny Caper Sauce, had me grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
Bellissima.
And my Italian comforts obsession continues...
