I hate to disappoint yet again, but I have to admit that jet lag is finally getting to me - and I must drift off to my comfy bed and dreamland very, very soon. But I did PROMISE a posting about Paris today, so here I am typing away before my head hits the pillow...
There is so much to share about Paris. Where do I begin? Well, my travel companion Missy K and I started our journey at the Westin, located between the Place Vendome (pictured above) and the Tuileries Gardens. A gem of a location.
But little did we know, it wasn't just a gem. It was a full-on Rock of Gibraltar diamond.
Why is that?
I have two words for you: Fashion Week.
We were there at the onset of the weeklong event, and as the couture tents were being set up in the Tuileries Gardens, our hotel became the de facto stomping ground for stylish fashionistas, power-brokers, wafer-thin models, designers and alike, not to mention a swarm of paparazzi. (Why do they always seem to follow me?!?)
Clearly Missy K and I had landed in the middle of a scene. As if we weren't scene enough on our own - gallivanting around the City of Light; taking a cruise up the Seine; hitting the Louvre for a glance at the Mona Lisa; stopping at hot spots like the bar at the Crillon for afternoon cocktail breaks; making a Sunday Mass visit to Notre Dame; devouring croissants and cafe au lait for breakfast at local cafes; raucous late night laughter sessions; prowling around the 1st arrondisment for trinkets for ourselves and loved ones - not to mention our stop at the Champs-Elysees flagship of Louis Vuitton, where Missy K gave into her handbag addiction and we shared a couple of flutes of champagne to celebrate her new purchase.
And there is so much more to tell...
Just let me get a bit of shut-eye first...Oui...
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
