Looking for the perfect holiday gift for the favorite displaced New Yorker on your list? Or perhaps a special something for that New Yorker who can't get enough of NYC. New York Magazine suggests a bevy of Big Apple mail-order goodies.
My pick of the list? Onion-flecked bialys from Kossars (pictured above.)
Don't tell me that these beautiful brick-oven babies are easy to come by in Mississippi. And, at this point, I have a feeling that bagels have reached all 50 states in the union - potentially in paltry Lender's form, but still...Bialys though, have yet to make it into the mainstream and/or be bastardized with the addition of blueberries or chocolate chips - or worse yet, the development of a "low-carb" version. Well, let's just hope this posting doesn't give Lender's any ideas...
Mmm! Those bialys look delicious. I might have to stop by there and try them sometime.
Thanks for sharing.
